NAB Horticulture is financed by income derived from a levy system. All producers pay a levy of 1.2% to the Namibian Agronomic Board (NAB) on all produce purchased. Importers pay a levy at the same rate on all produce imported into Namibia.
1. Import Levies: All levy income to finance the NHDI Administration cost
2. Producer Levies:
2.1. Commercial Area:
> 40% goes to Area Horticulture Committee
> 60% goes to NAB Horticulture
2.2 Communal Areas:
> 80% goes to Area Horticulture Committee
> 20% goes to NAB Horticulture
Income derived from levies covers all running costs of the NAB Horticulture. Cost for development projects however are funded by Government, through their Development Fund that is managed by the NAB. |
