4. What must I do to get my permit renewed?
Submit monthly returns every month end before the 10th day of the following month by fax or mail to the NAB indicating imports on one side and local purchases on the other.

5. What is a monthly return?
A monthly return is an excel spread sheet, which clearly indicates indicating imports on one side and local purchases on the other and is obtainable from the NAB.

6. What is the limit to own consumption?
Household consumption is limited to monetary value of N$400 per vehicle or per person per month.

7. How do I qualify for my next import permit?
After submitting your monthly return for a period of 3 months, you will automatically be renewed, provided that you adhered to the conditions stipulated in the permit.

8. What happens if I do not submit my monthly return, do not purchase local or purchase less than set percentage?


The NAB can not renew your permit until you have submitted all your monthly returns.
Purchasing less than the set percentage will result in a limited import permit.

9. Who qualifies for an unlimited permit?
Importers that exceed the minimum purchase requirement.

10. What if I buy more than required percentage for one month and less for the next month?
The local purchase requirement is calculated over three months, so the weighted average is used. Furthermore if you exceed the minimum purchase requirement in one three month period, then you build up credits for a time when you are unable to meet the requirement.
